Goodreads asked H. Paul Honsinger:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

H. Paul Honsinger I get to work on my own schedule. I may be working many more hours than I did when I worked in an office, but I get to get out of bed when I am rested and start without having to rush to beat the clock. I can start work when the coffee has crossed the blood/brain barrier and I'm thinking clearly. I can take breaks when I need them, get a snack when I am hungry, and otherwise let the schedule serve me rather than me having to bend to the schedule. Make no mistake, I work very long hours, but they are less difficult hours to work because they can be structured to fit my own rhythm of productivity.
