How did you you come up with "8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter"? What it based off of your life or someone you'd known? Also, how did you enjoy the program "8 Simple Rules"? Did you hate John Ritter, Katey Sagal and other actors in your mind for the roles of Paul, Cate, etc.?

At the time I had two teenage daughters! So yes, based o my life. I loved John and counted him as a friend. Katey remains one of my favorite actors. The cast was marvelous.
