For NaNoWriMo 2014, I am using an idea/plotline given to me by my cousin in Massachusetts. This is new for me. Normally, I have ideas swimming around in my head just waiting to make it into the light of day. I wrote 50K words for NaNo 2013, then decided not to go in that direction and did my own "NaNo" in June and July 2014.
That novel, in the editing stages now, is a mystery set in a fictitious town in Wisconsin. My protagonist, Insurance Investigator Pepper Bibeau, manages to become entangled in a murder investigation that involves such diverse topics as caves, black bears, and Hawaiian pizza.
