It was hard to stay invested in what is otherwise a clever book when a key bit is so glaringly obvious, and the author makes no real effort to throw anyone off the scent with regard to the villain. The Plot may be a good thriller, but it doesn't work as an homage to Columbo, nor should it try.(less)
