Goodreads asked Paul Colaianni:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Paul Colaianni If I can't relate in some way to what I'm writing about, I'll delete it and start over. I need to be able to relate to something that happened to me in order for the words to flow. If I'm really stuck, I'll actually start writing about my current experience, like, "I'm totally stuck and have no clue what to write next. I feel kind of stupid, sitting here at this keyboard with nothing to talk about. I feel like a failure because I should know this stuff but I don't..." etc.

When I do that, that usually releases any blocks, because I eventually touch on something that's relevant to my topic. From that point on, I'm back on track!
