Thank you, Marci. Most grateful. The Puritans did not use three-tined forks for eating. Some had two-tined carving forks. But the three-tined implement gaining favor in Europe resembled the Devil's pitchfork, in the opinion of some worthies. It wasn't until the 1700s that New Englanders would add the dinner fork to their tables.

There is no way I could pick one favorite author. But I agree it is a fun question. Just wanted to let you know you are one of my favorites. I'm in a blizzard in the NEK (Barton.) So my question to you is, out of all your novels that take place in VT, which is your favorite? Also, out of Howard Frank Mosher's work (so very sad that we lost him), which is your favorite of his.
