The Scholastic book fair had a “mature content” flag on this book and required parental permission to buy. How graphic does it get? Is it appropriate for 4th grade / 10YO?

There are very graphic things, all with good (but then again, GRAPHIC) descriptions. Such as: a woman gets severely burned, there's bodies falling, people with missing limbs, lots of death, of course, and the list goes on. It is a VERY well-written book and I would 100% recommend it for older readers. However, I think it's much too graphic for younger readers, especially ones that are sensitive to just death in general. Even if a younger reader isn't that sensitive to death, I would still not let them read it (if I were you). I think the topic of the book would also better affect them when they're older and understand 9/11 a little better. I first learned about 9/11 when I was 9, but I never really understood what it all meant until I was much older. Just some advice! :) (less)
