Goodreads asked Gina L. Maxwell:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Gina L. Maxwell 1. If you don't know how to do something, Google it! I learned everything about the publishing industry, how to query agents and publishers, how to write query letters and synopses, AND even how to write fiction well. I can't stress it enough. Google, Google, Google.

2. Find CPs (critique partners) that you click with (in personality and writing style) and trade chapters and manuscripts to critique. You learn just as much by critiquing someone else's MS as you do when they crit yours.

3. Don't wait to build your platform. Create a name and brand for yourself now so you have a ready audience when you get published. (Don't know what I mean by "platform" or "brand"? Google it!) ;)

4. Never stop learning. With each new book I write, I learn new things and get a little better than the last one.
