What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Mark Joseph Young Write, and publish what you're writing. It's still pretty easy to get a web log space, which is easier to use than building a web site, which is how I started publishing. And contact web sites which publish the kind of stuff you write--they're often eager to have contributions.
