A Goodreads user asked Cornelia Funke:

Hey Cornelia! Do you have any tips on how to stop overthinking when wanting to write a book? I have a lot of ideas and stories that I desperately want to tell but I'm always so scared of "screwing up" or not doing it any justice and therefore regretting it later on. I keep thinking so much into it all that I just sit on my notes that keep piling up and I don't know how to actually start writing :/

Cornelia Funke just write, Sasha. The first draft is always bad. The second is usually too. when you start weaving a flying carpet you need passion, patience and the will to play - and to fail!
