Claire saw Eva at the airport in the pink sweater, proving Eva didn't die in the crash. However, the Epilogue made it clear she died. Why did the author go to such lengths to trick the reader/Claire and think Eva never got on the plane ? What was the purpose of that side plot ? Any thoughts ? Other than this, the book/story was great. The best part was Liz's gift of unconditional love to Eva.
