Mariia Manko
Mariia Manko asked Kathy L. Wheeler:

Kathy, when did you realize yourself as a writer? After writing first book, publishing , success or …? You know this feeling inside «I am truly a writer»

Kathy L. Wheeler Hi, Mariia. The first book I wrote was the first in my Cinderella Series, The Wronged Princess. At the time I had it titled: The Shoe the Other Foot Fit. It was only 13k words. I joined the Oklahoma Chapter of RWA (who had some big time members: Sharon Sala, PC Cast, Merline Lovelace, Gena Showalter) and a few others. At my first meeting the room was packed. Needless to say, I was really intimidated. When we went around the table to introduce ourselves, I couldn't say book. I referred to my book as a story. I think it took another year. After I wrote Quotable, and then Maybe It's You, from the Bloomington series. Then I started to believe I was a writer.
Though, one thing that hit me right off. After I wrote the first book, I knew writing was for me. I now have 15 published, and since the pandemic, I've written 8 more. So I'm in the middle of a huge rollout for the Regency series: Rebel Lords of London.
