How did you get the idea for Surfer Villager?

Dr. Block I wanted to write about a villager, but didn't want to do a story that was the same as every other story I had seen at the time (i.e., in 2015). Since I surf, I thought it would be funny to have a surfing villager. (Obviously, the story has morphed beyond surfing now, but that was the genesis of the idea.)
