How do you get inspired to write?

Brent Hayward I avoid waiting for inspiration because it's unreliable. Always have something on the go, and devote time consistently when a story starts to move. If I think enough about the situations I've written, the next stage unfolds, and so on. So the answer, for me, is to keep chipping away, keep thinking about what's next (and what needs to happen in the parts already written). A little less mystical, a little more like work.
