Isobel
Isobel asked Robin Stevens:

How do you write a good descriptive scene in a story? Yours are always so realistic like when describing Daisy, Hazel, dead bodies, Hong Kong, England etc.

Robin Stevens Hi Isobel, when I write I see the scene in front of me like I'm watching a film, or playing a computer game. I am seeing whatever my character is seeing, and hearing what they're hearing, and so I can translate all of their perceptions to the page. Sometimes it helps for me to visit the place I'm writing about - that's what I did with Spoonful of Murder and Death Sets Sail. It's so useful to know exactly what I need to describe! But if you can't travel, researching and then using your imagination is great too.
