I get my inspiration from all over the place. Games - especially JRPGs and tabletop games - are a huge part of it. I'm also constantly reading, both in terms of books and other forms of media like manga, manhwa, etc.
I created my dominion sorcery system for tabletop games and LARPs over the course of years, then gradually adapted it. Attunements were much faster; they're basically just a logical extension of dominion sorcery. I iterated on how they work throughout the process of writing Sufficiently Advanced Magic, but the foundation for how the system works is just an extension of what you already see from Dominion Marks in the War of Broken Mirrors.

Hey Andrew, love your work, just went thru Arcane Ascension 1, 2, and 2.5. Now that I have read AA 2.5/Weapons and Wielders 1, I'm wondering if the Fire Temple in the Final Exam of AA 2 was the actual Fire Temple. If so, will the crew be returning to ask for their boons?
