Goodreads asked Robert P. Arthur:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Robert P. Arthur Ghosts of Silver Beach Road is a poem/play based on my book of poetry Silver Beach Road. Arguably I invented the term poem/play to describe a stage play script which marries individual poems to music in units that both stand alone and forms a musical play complete with plot, dramatic arc and poetic diction. Other examples of my poem plays are " Hymn to the Chesapeake", "River Country" - co-authored with Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda, "Vija's War" is a post-modern verse treatment of an ancient myth, not a translation or adaptation of another work. Vija's War is a hauntingly beautiful poem/play which takes place as the Germans and Russians invade Latvia.
