Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Tony Schumacher One night, back when i was driving a taxi to survive, I came home from work at about four in the morning. I'd left the tv on for my dog (he liked late night documentaries) and i sat down to eat a sandwich with him before i went to bed.
On the tv a programme about the Nazi occupation of the British Channel Islands during the war was just finishing. On the screen was a photo of a British Bobby holding open a car door for a German officer and from that, eventually, came The Darkest Hour.
