I would say that this book is age appropriate for maybe a twelve or thirteen year old. No spicy scenes to speak of since its set in the early years of the 1900s when such things were frowned on. There is quite a lot of romance themes and I imagine that by the end of the series, all the characters will be paired off. The characters do fight demons, so there's violence and also death.
