What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Julia Paulette Hollenbery What did your younger self want to write about?
Never doubt the promptings of your soul.

You too can do it. Allow yourself an organic process of starting and stopping, listening in to your body and heart. Writing is not a linear process, but a rising and falling passion, commitment, pause and refinement, each has its season...

My younger self, so very lost, would be delighted I have achieved/am achieving what she knew was possible for me in the future. She would be very happy and proud that I found my way through great difficulty and into contented balance and happiness in relationships, work and everyday life. Not so-called perfect, sometimes now also frustrated, lonely or sad, but so grounded, responsible and capable. She would think, ‘I knew you could do it!’ ‘Well done!’ and ‘I Love You!.’

What message do you want to share, who do you want to reach? Allow raw imperfection to pour out, your writing will have a life of its own... Good luck!
