What Hale did was scary and unnerving and wrong, no doubt. But guys, stop throwing mentally ill people under the bus by saying Hale was "unhinged/unwell/psychotic" for what she did. This is a problem with Hale and how she reacts to criticism and rejection, NOT some faraway mental illness. It is insulting to people with mental illnesses that they constantly have to be equated with stuff like this.

You are correct it is not right or fair to do this. Mentally ill people are not to be blamed every time someone acts up what she did was not right but it has nothing to do with the book itself.
