Anne Hamilton
Anne Hamilton asked Edoardo Albert:

Hi Edoardo, I hope you can clear up a mystery. I've been trying for many years to find where (I think it's Icelandic saga but I'm not sure) it mentions a goꝺi who leapt on a stallion to go and destroy the temple of Frey. I have searched for this so long I had begun to believe my memory was faulty. However Coifi's decision in EDWIN to cut down the sacred grove is so close to my memory, I thought you may know?

Edoardo Albert Hello, Anne! Firstly, thank you very much for your kind review of Edwin. It really does make a difference to a writer, both in terms of morale (writing can be a pretty solitary business and to read that someone has been touched by your work is a real solace) and in simple sales, reviews help a great deal.

As to your question, while it does not fit your memory entirely, could it be from the saga of Hrafnkell, Frey's Priest? There's a part in that where his favourite horse, Freymane, is killed by his enemies, who then destroy the temple to Frey that Hrafnkell built. Hearing this, Hrafnkell disavows the gods. Could it possibly be this that you remember, combined with elements of Coifi's story? You can find Hrafnkell's saga online here: https://sagadb.org/hrafnkels_saga_fre...

Let me know if you think this could be the answer. If not, I will ask some of my colleagues if they know the answer.
