Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Mark Phillips Re-Test, my most recent book, came out of my desire to write a book with a closed setting and limited characters. That combined with a question I asked myself. I wondered if it would ever be possible to root for the "New American Boogeyman", which is the man with a gun in a school.

I don't know if I answered those questions, but I tried my best.
