katie asked:

Is this the book Pitch perfect is based on?

Donald Yes, but it's not a novelization of the movie. Rather, the book is real reporting. Interesting with a particular style. The movie took elements--a lot of elements, actually--and adapted them for the big (or little) screen. I was actually surprised by how much the movie did take parts of the book. If you're expecting Becca and Chloe to be cavorting in the book, you'll be disappointed. But if you developed some interest in a capella and want to see this is a great book. And even if you have an interest in screen writing, the book is a really good example of how a piece of nonfiction can be made into a fictional movie. It's also a good example of a first movie that clearly traces its roots to reality; the second and third movies were real disappointments.
Julianne Yes, but I do not recommend you read the book if you like the movie. You will be very disappointed. The book has nothing to do with the movie.
