Goodreads asked Laura Warby:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Laura Warby Keep writing.

Don't listen to criticism telling you that you're rubbish; instead listen to why they say you're rubbish, and then improve.
Don't rush; people spend their hard-earned money on your books. Make sure the spelling and grammar is up to par, the plot isn't full of holes, and that your cover markets your book in the best way possible.

Read any and all reviews that you get, whether from a published work or comments received on a story you've posted on free writing websites like Wattpad or Booksie; respond to those that you feel it's appropriate to do so, and build links within the writing community.
These links will create fans who will follow you as you first begin self-publishing, and who may be willing to give you reviews to boost your initial sales.

Most of all, enjoy it! If it feels like a chore, that will reflect in your writing. Take the time to do the things you love, aside from writing, and gleam inspiration from everywhere and anywhere.
