Goodreads asked R.L. McIntyre:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

R.L. McIntyre I think of it in terms of what I call the creativity cat. If you own a cat you know how fickle they can be. One minute they're needy and the next they want nothing to do with you. I've found that when the creativity cat has disappeared it's time to shake things up. I often work on another project if I still want to write, try a random writing prompt, or binge a show on Netflix. Usually, it works. Especially since I always have other projects in the works on the side of my main piece. I find it's also important not to get negative. It's so easy to feel like you're failing when the creativity cat hasn't visited in awhile but eventually he does come back.
