Ana Huang Thanks so much! I wish I had an interesting answer but honestly, it just came to me haha. Alex is loosely based on someone I know, and the setting was inspired by my time living in D.C. I also wanted to write a brother's best friend trope. The rest of the plot came to me as I was outlining the story and trying to figure out ways to make it more interesting :) P.S. Can't wait to see the edit!
