I don't. I am blessed with no deadlines. This is actually a mixed blessing. Nevertheless, I don't. When I'm stumped as to where a story is to go, I wait it out. I have plenty to do in my real life. Eventually, things work out and I continue.
A more realistic -- or rather, more helpful -- response would be that when I have to, I write. Write about something else, or from a different direction. That will often kick start things.
