Goodreads asked Emily Queen:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Emily Queen I've come to realize writer's block is my brain's way of telling me there's something wrong with my plot or my story. I'm fortunate enough to have another writer in the family, so I talk out my plot with her when I get really stuck. Usually, by the time I've explained the problem, I've realized the solution.
Also, when I have a specific plot point that doesn't make sense, I meditate on it. All that means is I sit or lay down, close my eyes, and run through the problem in my mind with an "if this that then" mentality.
I take a little trip back to high school/college and make notes with actual pen and paper. It reminds me of simpler times, and the act of writing the words down seems to make them come alive for me in a way typing doesn't.
