Does this book skip from 30 years ago to present day every other chapter like so many books lately?

I have not read the book yet but want to reply to Ivana. I agree with you that so many current books employ the device of see-sawing between past and present with every other chapter. Not sure why this is a popular trend but I don't care for it. It's not an innovative idea if everyone does it.
Patti
No. The past is mentioned, but does not go back and forth.
Marybeth McCarrick
This is a much more creative book. There are so many questions about the past that are raised but not at all clearly answered until much later in the book. I couldn’t put it down because of how curious I was about what had happened both 30 years ago and in the recent past. If you can stand the suspense and allow the pieces of the puzzle to just hang in the balance, I think you’ll really enjoy the way this author strings us along! I was very impressed with this book. Very unique!
Emily
No, thank goodness! That does drive me crazy sometimes.
Sarah Simone
Nobody flat out answered, it does not. It’s set in the present and references the past frequently. But it does not go back and forth like most books these days.
Sandra Jackson - Alawine
No ever once in awhile the past is mentioned but it's someone remembering (usually Walk) the past not those irritating chapters where you wonder what the heck is going on when one chapter you are in 2020 and the next 1985 for example. I am glad I am not the only one that can't stand that.
