I think the book shows how easily we raise evil people and how parents cannot see bad in their kids. The ending is sad and scary to me. Scary because I think that the antagonist persists and may never be held responsible for the mistakes that it did. On the other hand, the book has a resolution (kind off) to the internal conflict that the protagonist is having regarding the nature of her own mental health.(less)
