Hello fellow Michigander! I’m looking forward to picking up some of your books. I love reading stories that take place in SE Michigan! Which book do you suggest I start with? Cheers!

Hey Jill! Thanks for the questions. I definitely feel like real settings are easier to write, since i can soak in the environment and write it with verity and such.
My newest book might be most specific, taking place in Northville Psychiatric Hospital. Not sure if you know of the place, but its on 7 Mile west of Haggerty, and was legendary for trespassers for 20 years or so before it was torn down. (it releases on 1/28/21)
Milk-Blood is about heroin addiction and poverty, and takes place on Brentwood in Detroit. It is a piece of meta-fiction, where the author (presumably, but not necessarily me) writes directly to the reader, and then gets pulled into the story at the end. It is based partly on my experiences working as a social worker in Detroit.
Thanks for the question! I hope one of them suits your tastes.

Body of Christ - okay. I love horror that talks about how effed-up humanity is and points out our fatal flaws. The more frightening, the more I'm intrigued. I'm also a VERY devout Roman Catholic who honestly believes that God does no wrong, ever, period, and that God is always good. So here's the bottom line - your book looks AMAZING but, is God the bad guy or not? If so, I won't enjoy reading it. Sorry.

Hi, I hope you are doing well. I'm somewhat new to reading novels and really enjoyed 'Lizard' in 'Lullabies for Suffering'. So far it is my favorite in that anthology. I will check out 'Garden of Fiends' after this one. So glad I found this because it introduced me to a lot of interesting novels that I look forward to reading. Just realized this is for questions so here is mine: Who did Liz choose in the end? Cheers.
