Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Susan E. Farris I was quite taken by an article in a local magazine about the wake and gravedigging ceremonies of a local church known for its historic graveyard. I had recently lost my grandmother (the last of my grandparents to pass away) and was processing a huge amount of grief. This book started as a short story to deal with that and grew from there when I realized how large the characters were and how dynamic the family was and how there was to unpack.
