Duban Overworld
Duban Overworld asked Dr. Block:

I see you are writing a crossover with Dave. How do you write that? On a meeting? On Teams? How?

Dr. Block Hi. So, Dave and I spent some time outlining the chapters of the book. The outline wasn't too detailed. It would be something like: "Jimmy activates end portal and he and his squad are about to jump in, when suddenly enemy forces appear and they have a massive battle. Jimmy's squad triumphs and they jump into the portal." [NOTE: This does not happen in the crossover; I just wanted to give an example.]

Once we had a story we liked, we assigned alternating chapters. We used a Google Doc to write the book in a single location. Dave would write a chapter and then I would see how he ended it and would write the next chapter from that point.

After all the chapters were written, we each went through the entire book and made changes / suggestions / additions. Using the Google Doc was critical since it meant that we never had to worry about someone having a different version or something. And, both writers can be working on it at the exact same time.

So, that is the basic process we followed.
