There is swearing, and drinking as well. Kissing, but no sex. And it is a straight romance,(not LGBTQ) but even if wasn't, that wouldn't make it unclean.

This book would be ok for a younger/teen reader. It mentions that the couple kisses, but there are not "hot and heavy" descriptions. One of the female friends mentions having liked a girl in the past, but again no disturbing descriptions. The teens do drink occasionally (but they mention that the legal age is 18 in England and most of them are of that age). If there are swear words they are very few and not part of "everyday" language of the cast of characters.
