How do you know what books are going to your publishers and which are going to be independent?

Colleen Hoover I usually don't plan it out any certain way. I like to self-publish sometimes because I'm able to make the books cheaper for readers. But I also enjoy having a publisher. Right now I'm on a schedule of one book a year to my publisher, so if I write a second book in that same year, I self publish it. It never has anything to do with content, really. Just timing.
