Andrew Brooks
Andrew Brooks asked Lyndon Hardy:

Unfortunately not. In case I wasn't too clear, the problem is transposed chapters. The first chapter in each part was correct, then were several chapters from the end of that part, then the chapters resumed?

Lyndon Hardy I looked over part one of Secret of the Sixth Magic. As far as I can tell, the chapters are in the order I intended. Yes, there are flashbacks to earlier events as the story unfolds. The first chapter is out of place in the hopes of enticing a reader to want to read more and then flashing back to the beginning.

Authors, or at least myself in any case, always has the struggle of, on one hand, telling a face-paced story, and, on the other, giving the reader background information that he should know even if doing so slows things down.

The flashbacks in the subsequent parts are where they are for the same reason.

Thanks for asking.
