Aaah . . .writer's block, the ultimate nemesis of any writer! How do I deal with it? Two ways. First - try to avoid it from happening. It often happens to me when I spend too much time working on one writing project. So, I try to either switch between projects often or if that is not an option, I switch between sub-projects. That keeps my brain from getting bogged down. Another technique is doing free writing sessions. Every morning I spend 5-10 minutes on writing a page about a random word, phrase or thought. This keeps my mind refreshed and nimble. Second, if the dreaded block has already settled in, I do not fight it. I stop writing and all activities related to writing and simply let the phase pass over. Then I begin all over again.
