Alison Vandermay The only reason I don't think that is because she mentions her dad speaks a different language at the end when she talks to him.

Emilia No, remember that Nadia's mom died.
Alice Yes I was wondering this too! Her dad was a programmer/ engineer and mom was an analyst. Plus the stuff about not wanting to have kids because of the environment. I'm not sure why Backman wouldn't make this clear if it's the case though. 🤔
Slawomir Kortas Wow. Haven’t thought of that but thinking back it could be possible. I mean the book does mention programmers and makes use of programming language in Nadias discussion with Zara, and Anna-Lena was a Senior Analyst and Roger a bridge engineer, but if we zoom out a little, your theory holds up quite well.
Lunetune Roger was an engineer, though, and Nadia said that her father was a systems analyst, and I believe he was from a different country than Sweden.
Jennifer No Her mom was a gin drinker and died I believe.
Marissa No. In Zara's first meeting with Nadia it is revealed that Nadia's mother died recently, so Anna-Lena can't be Nadia's mother.
