I live in Northwest Ohio right near Port Clinton (my husband lived there). I'm curious how that small town and Lakeside became the setting for Best Day Ever!! Have you ever been there? It was really neat to read about places I see all the time :)

Yes, Angela, our family had a cottage at Lakeside. I have so many fond memories of that place and the area. I was a little worried the Lakeside Association would be angry I placed a suspense novel in their perfect community, but they were excited. I had the chance to lead a golf cart tour of the places in the book two summers ago. It was fabulous to be back. Thanks for the question!

I enjoyed Best Day Ever despite the fact that Paul was extremely sleazy, which was one of the captivating aspects of the story. However, even though Paul may make a future appearance in your work, I feel that a more appropriate ending would not have been his skipping bail (Florida will extradite a fugitive from justice to Ohio), but rather that he gets sent to jail for his crimes of robbery and arson. Maybe?

I just have to agree that "The Best Day Ever" has to be one of the best books I have read in a long time that has kept me sucked in. The way Paul Strom's character was written, like I'm speechless. I hated him, and that's the point. He never broke character. Absolutely loved it! I'm hoping for a sequel! Kudos for a job well done! Very well written! Where do you get your ideas/ inspirations for thrillers like this?
