alexandra thinks to herself that she has survived the ten years since the shipwreck in which her father perished, which she describes to Chase as having happened when she was 12 years old.
I don't believe we're ever told exactly how old Chase is, but i would guess mid to late twenties. He says he was "still at school" when Rosamund was born, likely meaning boarding school, which boys usually attended from around age 13-18. (Though oftentimes younger, but not usually older.) Since Rosamund is 10, Chase could be around 23-28 years old.
