I love the sisters who raised Veronica Speedwell. I especially like their last name, Harbottle. What is the origin of this name? Could you tell me anything about it? I suppose it's English or Irish. What else? The names of Dickens' characters come to mind. Harbottle, it has such character. Why did you choose this last name? Maybe a little about Speedwell too, if it's not too much to ask.

Is the Lady Detective that Veronica is enjoying in this book a real series? Or was it made up just for her character? Because if it is real, and it catches HER attention that much, then I think I'd like it. If not, if it's solely for the sake of the story, then I'm sad.
