Alexis What I don't understand is the difference between her "simply dying" and her surrendering her soul. What does it mean to keep her soul "in tact?" Addie asks Luc at one point "What would become of me?" and he replies "You will become nothing, my dear...But it is a kinder nothing than this. Surrender, and I will set you free." So if she becomes nothing after she surrenders her soul, how is that different from dying?
Mikala I interpreted it to mean like free of Luc and free of her curse at last. So I kinda took it to mean like her soul would be free at last, so presumably she would finally die and be at some kind of peace.

Roberta Sallee Did you all know the meaning of "palimpsest" before she used it five times in this book? Just curious...

Matilda Maybe she means free to go where she pleases again then?

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ It’s left very open so we have no idea. He will take her soul and after that, she will simply die. The contract of him taking her soul is not gone, so I’m not sure why she thinks she can get out of it when she can’t.
