Ernest Cline stated that the novel would have a different story-line involving all of the characters, while still exploring pop culture references like the first book. I don't think early drafts were given out on Netgalley or Goodreads so how can their be so many reviews?

Peter Just like with many other books, ratings are set before the release date in order to reflect the persons' expectation of the new book.

A more profound example is book 3 of Patrick Rothfuss, which has been rated for eleven years now, without a single page available.
