It depends on what your friend is used to reading. I know I was reading worse than this when I was in fourth grade (thanks Christopher Pike!) but kids are way more sheltered these days.

Nope. I’d recommend another book. There’s a lot of content that’s a bit too heavy for a 13 year old. Lots of YA fiction has sex, drug use etc. but the representation of entitled, privileged, spoiled rich kids in this book is very negative.

In my opinion, I would recommend this to mature 8th graders and up. Maybe 14+??
