Goodreads asked Bart Leahy:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Bart Leahy On the job, I use the "blah blah" theory of handling a block--usually over a word, sentence, or paragraph. I'll write, "Add some blah blah blah about the propulsion system," then come back to it later, after my subconscious has had time to work on it.

Off duty (fiction writing), I don't have any great suggestions. I recently cured a two-year case of writer's block by writing a short story. After that story, I went back to quietude. I"m not quite as disciplined in my fiction. Oops.
