Besides all the getting published stuff? Rediscovering my love of writing. Before, I'd written 16 novels and had gotten to the point where I only thought of publication. With Incarnate, I took a giant step back and wrote it 100% for me, not thinking about publishing at all. Imagine my surprise when that was the book that people wanted to publish!
