The very fact that we are reading books is a huge thing but yes, there was rape in the wilds of history, more than we can imagine. One person who answered this question stated, rape is power over another person. Many people read historical fiction that is buffered to entertain and fail to realize that there was much more violence, especially against women, in centuries past. (less)
