I only read about halfway through, then got tired of the graphic sex and skipped to the end just to see how the story ends. In about 350 pages that I read, the main character escapes at least 4 rape attempts (I assume there are others I missed), and the male hero is raped. After she is "forced" to marry the Scotsman, the two of them have consensual sex in what seems like every chapter. To me, the sex scenes (graphically described by the way) seemed gratuitous and unnecessary filler. That's my opinion and why I abandoned the book.(less)
