Hi Michael, First, I wanted to say that I've read everything Elan-related, and I love how you've added the very realistic effect of distorting Elan's inhabitants' understanding of their own history between LotFE and RR. I have a quick question: I'm rereading Crown Conspiracy after reading LotFE, and Gutaria prison reminds me of Phyre (beyond what Myron says about feeling dead). Was that intentional?

The was no intention on my part to correlate Gutaria and Phyre. Gutaria is far more insidious. Keep in mind it's not only a prison, but it has a spell on it such that you are constantly reminded of your worst memory. (As Hadrian discovered when he relives the chanting crowds cheering for "Galanti!."

Phyre is far blander. It's best described as beige. It lacks pain of any kind. And is just dull and everyone there feels stuck in a thick malise.

Now, true that both are unending...or seemingly so. We'll see if the gate of Phyre is ever thrown open and those inside can end their tiresome existance.
